Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age of five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become a professional actor from the age of aged six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy with part-time courses. When she was ten, she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through her Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions, she as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It also was one of the top-rated films in 2001. The opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, and especially the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma received five awards to honor her role in the movie.
